Élan is the stage name for David Elan Kelley, a professional guitarist and vocalist who performs and composes in a wide variety of styles including Rock, Pop, Classical, Jazz, Blues, Hip-Hop and Contemporary Instrumental. Élan holds a masters degree in classical guitar performance from Portland State University where he graduated with the highest honors.

Élan studied classical guitar under David Rogers, Bryan Johanson and Jesse McCann, as well as jazz guitar under Jeff Putterman.  He has also performed in master-classes with some of the world’s finest guitar players, including the Grammy award-winning virtuoso performer David Russell, the Grammy award-winning composer Andrew York, and Ralph Towner, celebrated performer/composer and founding member of the musical group Oregon.  Élan currently performs as a solo artist using loop pedal technology to mimic the sound of a full band.  He is also a current and founding member of The Oregon Guitar Trio, along with his former professor David Rogers and fellow student Matthew Gwinup.
